Terms & Conditions of Sale (UK)

Last updated: 14 December 2025

1) Who we are

Teddy’s Barn (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’) is a UK-based online retailer reselling branded dog food and treats.

Business details:

– Legal name: Teddy’s Barn
– Geographic address: Gillingham, Kent, UK
– Email: info@teddysbarn.co.uk |
– VAT number: tbc

2) Scope & eligibility

We sell only within the United Kingdom to consumers (individuals). These Terms apply to purchases made on our website and any marketplace storefronts we operate (e.g., eBay). If a marketplace imposes stricter rules that benefit you, the marketplace rules will apply for that order.

3) Product information (pet food & treats)

We resell third-party products. Product descriptions, ingredients, feeding guides and allergen information are based on manufacturer data. Always check the label on delivery before feeding; ingredients and recipes can change without notice. If your pet has special dietary needs or allergies, consult a vet before use. Best-before/expiry dates are printed on the packaging.

4) Ordering, contract formation & payment

By placing an order you confirm you are 18+ and resident in the UK. We’ll acknowledge your order by email. The contract is formed when we accept your order (when we charge your payment and/or dispatch the goods). If we cannot accept your order (e.g., stock or pricing error), we’ll cancel and refund promptly.

5) Prices, promotions & fairness

Prices are shown in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout. Obvious pricing errors may be corrected; if corrected post-order, we’ll offer a refund option. We don’t use misleading or aggressive sales practices, fake reviews, or drip pricing.

6) Shipping options & weight-based selection (important)

To ensure the correct postage and prevent delays: You must select the shipping option that matches the total parcel weight shown at checkout. If the selected service does not cover the parcel weight or size, we will contact you to collect the difference. If we cannot reach you within 2 working days, we may cancel and refund the order. Repeated misuse of shipping options may result in future orders being refused.

7) Delivery, risk & missing parcels

Delivery options, costs and estimated timeframes are shown at checkout and in your order confirmation. If no date is agreed, we aim to deliver within 30 days. Risk remains with us until you (or someone you nominate) physically receive the goods, unless you choose your own carrier from outside our options—then risk passes when we hand items to your carrier. If a parcel arrives damaged or is missing items, tell us within 48 hours with photos of the outer box, label and contents so we can investigate with the carrier.

8) Right to cancel (change of mind) – distance sales

For most online purchases you have 14 days from the day you receive the goods to tell us you want to cancel, then 14 days more to return them. We’ll refund within 14 days of receiving the goods back (or evidence of return). Important restrictions for food products: For health protection/hygiene reasons, once the seal is broken on pet food or treats, they are not suitable for return unless faulty. Unopened items can be returned. Items liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly are excluded from the 14-day change-of-mind right. Return costs: You are responsible for return postage on change-of-mind returns unless we offer a free returns label.

9) Faulty, damaged or not-as-described goods

You are entitled to remedies under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Depending on the issue and timing, that can include a full refund (short-term right to reject), repair or replacement, and further remedies if a repair/replacement fails. We’ll cover return costs for faulty items.

10) Returns process (all cases)

Email us at info@teddysbarn.co.uk with order number, reason, and photos where relevant. Use our return instructions and include your order number in the parcel. Refunds go to the original payment method. We may deduct any loss in value caused by unnecessary handling of change-of-mind returns.

11) Customer service, complaints & ADR

If you have a complaint, contact us at info@teddysbarn.co.uk. We’ll try to resolve it quickly. If we cannot resolve a dispute internally, we will provide details of a suitable UK Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) entity you may contact. We are not obliged to use ADR, but we will consider it in good faith and tell you whether we agree to participate.

12) Data protection & privacy

We process your personal data to take orders, deliver goods, prevent fraud, and handle support and legal obligations. Controller: Teddy’s Barn. Lawful bases: contract, legal obligation, and our legitimate interests. We keep data only as long as necessary and secure it appropriately. You have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object, and to data portability. You can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

13) E-commerce information & checkout disclosures

We will clearly display: our business identity and contact details; total price including taxes and delivery; key characteristics of the goods; delivery restrictions (UK-only); steps to conclude the order; how to correct input errors; and post-order confirmation on a durable medium (email).

14) Safety, recalls & manufacturer support

If we become aware of a safety issue or recall notice relating to products we have sold, we will contact affected customers using the details supplied and follow the relevant manufacturer and regulatory guidance.

15) Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any rights you have under consumer law. Otherwise, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: losses not caused by our breach, business losses (we sell to consumers), or losses beyond what was reasonably foreseeable. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

16) Events outside our control

If an event outside our reasonable control (e.g., carrier network disruption) affects performance, we’ll let you know and take steps to minimise the impact; you may cancel for a refund if there is a substantial delay.

17) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect legal or operational changes. The version in force at the time you place your order applies to that order.

18) Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales and disputes can be heard by the UK courts. This does not affect any mandatory rights you have under UK consumer law.
